former Picher Oklahoma businessman, and long time resident of Quapaw Oklahoma, died at the Muskogee Oklahoma, General hospital, Monday afternoon. He was the son of the last W. I. Bingham. Bingham was a retired fire insurance agent and was born October 1, 1892 on a farm three miles east of Quapaw Oklahoma. He attended the school about one mile from his home, and in Quapaw and Miami. He received further education by correspondence courses and special training. In the year 1908, he entered the insurance business in partnership with James Miller, in Quapaw while it was still Indian Territory. He was later engaged in the insurance and real estate business in Picher Oklahoma. He also had extensive interests in lead and zinc mines in this area. In 1927, he moved to Muskogee where he entered the water bottling business. He sold this business The Muskogee Bottling Company, in 1943 and reentered the insurance business until September 1950, when he retired due to ill health. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Quapaw, and a past grand and trustee of the Muskogee IOOF lodge. He was also a thirty second degree mason, and belonged at the lodge at Muskogee. Survivors include three sons, Bill Bingham with the Navy, Rex Bingham of Los Angeles California, and Chancey Bingham of Tonopaw Nevada; one daughter, Mrs. David Reid of Washington D.C.; and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle DeVillers of Quapaw and Mrs. Bessie Markel also of Quapaw. Funeral services are in charge of the Thomas funeral home of Picher. Pallbearers will be Pete Pucket, Reamus Crabtree, Frank Goff, L. M. Hallock, Eddie Briggs and W. G. Worrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Fain Pucket, H. J. Carlow, Jess Crabtreet, A. A. Lane, Rennie Rector, John King, Jack Mann, June Thomas, Dr. M. Elkins and P. L. Rozelle.
