48 year old lead and zinc miner, died in Picher Oklahoma hospital at 6:30 pm Wednesday from a heart attack suffered after he voted on the city's electric power franchise issue at the Mineral Heights school. Stricken while descending the school's steps, Beyke was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead about a half-hour later. A longtime resident of Picher, the miner was employed by the Residue Mining Company, an affiliate of the Nellie B. Mining Company. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Charlotte Beyke of the home, 419 South Emily Street, Picher; four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Marshbanks of Jasper Missouri, Miss Eileen Beyke of the home, Mrs. Jennetta Campbell of Miami, and Mrs. Imogene Searcy of Picher; a son, Lonnie L. "Buster" Beyke of Goodman Missouri; a brother, Von Beyke of Karnak Illinois; a sister, Sister Laurentia of the Catholic church in Jackson Tennessee, and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in the Methodist church at 1 pm Sunday the Rev. Ralph J. Palmer will officiate. Burial will be in a Missouri cemetery under direction of the Green funeral home of Pryor.

died at Picher hospital, Wednesday evening only a few minutes after he had cast his vote in the Empire District Electric Company's franchise election. According to reports, Mr. Beyke walked up the stairs at the Mineral Heights school, cast his vote, and became ill a few minutes later, while still at the school. He was taken to the Picher hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. A resident of Picher for many years. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in Picher by the Rev. R. J. Palmer. Burial was in Missouri.
