No trace has been found of Carl Bennett, nephew of Mrs. Roxie Cain, who disappeared Tuesday, according to an announcement made today by chief of Police John Stout. Local police, who have been searching for the young Picher Oklahoma hard rock lead and zinc miner, said that in the event no information is received as to his whereabouts today, they will begin a search of the mine shafts between Picher and Baxter Springs Kansas. A letter supposed to have been written by Bennett stated he was tired of living and that he intended "to end it all."

All efforts to locate Carl Bennett the Picher miner who suddenly disappeared nearly one week ago, have thus far been futile, according to an announcement made today by Chief of Police John Stout. A search of mine shafts between here and Baxter Springs was made today, but no trace of Bennett's body was found to substantiate the suicide theory. Bennett is a nephew of Mrs. Roxie Caine residing near the Twin School building.
