76, 4014 South 627 Road, Quapaw Oklahoma, died at 9 am Sunday, Nov 1, 1998, at a home southeast of Quapaw after suffering an apparent heart attack. Mr. Beets was born Jan 15, 1922, in Ottawa county Oklahoma, He lived in the Quapaw area most of his life. He was a retired lead and zinc miner, having worked in the Picher Oklahoma area mining fields. He was an Indian. He married Beatrice Darnell on Nov 4, 1988, at Hockerville Oklahoma. She survives. Additional survivors include a son, Anthony Beets, Vinita Oklahoma; three stepsons, Scott Vanhoose, Jr., Picher; David Vanhoose, Baxter Springs Kansas, and Richard Vanhoose, the state of Iowa; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be at 10 am Tuesday at Catholic cemetery, east of Quapaw. Charles Dawes will conduct Indian rites.
