Funeral services for Robert D. "Bob" Barnes, 58 year old former Tri- State district resident, will be conducted at the Cooper chapel, at Miami, at 11 am Monday. The Reverend Millard of Tulsa will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery. Barnes, who was cashier and dispatcher for the Common Laborers' union local No. 1202 in Tulsa Oklahoma, died in the Hillcrest Memorial hospital at 12:40 am Thursday. Well-known in this area, Barnes was a government inspector and construction foreman in and around Miami and Tulsa. For many years he was associated in the oil and mining business in Baxter Springs Kansas with his late father, J. W. Barnes, until the latter's death in 1934. A 32nd degree Mason, Barnes was a member of Masonic organizations in Fort Scott Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lola Barnes of the home, a son, Russell D. Barnes of Fort Worth Texas; a brother, Russell B. Barnes, of Vivian Louisiana; three sisters, Mrs. Jack Shafer of Tulsa and Mrs. Grant Wagoner and Mrs. Rosa Page, both of Baxter Springs, and two grandchildren.
