38 years old, of Douthat Oklahoma, well known hard rock lead and zinc miner of the Tri-State district, died yesterday at the Veterans' hospital at Fayetteville Arkansas, following an extended illness. The body was been returned for burial by the Durnil funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Bagby had lived in Douthat a number of years, having been employed by the Skelton Lead and Zinc Company for 14 years. His last work was as ground foreman. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Florence Bagby; four children, Betty Lou Bagby, Margie Jean Bagby and Esther Sue Bagby, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Bagby of Douthat; one sister, Mrs. Jean Bowman of Collins Missouri, and three brothers, Lester Bagby of Arizona and Victor Bagby and Harold Bagby of Douthat. Bagby was an ex-service man, having served over seas in World War I. He will be accorded a military funeral by the Veterans' association of District 15. Pallbearers will be Dick Kelton, Jack Gulick, Logan Wood, Sterling Smotherman, Louis Myers and Pat Bray. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for John Bagby, 38 year old prominent Douthat miner who died Thursday at a veteran hospital at Fayetteville, Arkansas, will be conducted at the Douthat Baptist church at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon. Rev. C. E. Bergen, pastor of the First Baptist church will officiate. Military services will be observed with the veteran association of District 15, in charge. Members of this organization are to meet at the Durnil funeral home at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon preparatory to attending the funeral in a body. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami under the direction of Durnil funeral Home.
