44 year old former hard rock lead and zinc miner, died at 1:50 am today at his home, 1102 G Street northwest, Miami, after an extended illness. Austin, who had been a resident of Miami, 17 years is survived by his wife, Mrs. Reatha Austin, and a son, James Leroy Austin, both of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne Cooper, Wichita Kansas, and Martha Jane Austin of the home; his mother, Mrs. Oscar Jesse, Acompa California; a sister, Mrs. Alvin Williams, Turner Kansas and a step-sister, Mrs. Kendrick Medley of Picher Oklahoma. Arrangements for services and burial will be announced by the Cooper funeral home.

Funeral services for Harley Leroy Austin, 44 year old World War II veteran, will be conducted at 10:30 am Saturday at the Cooper mortuary. The Rev. M. R. Dareing will officiate. Cousins will act as pallbearers. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami. Austin, a former miner, died Wednesday at his home, 1102 G Street northwest. Note: Cooper funeral home records show the following additional information: Austin was born in Oklahoma. His father's name was James Austin and his mother Mettee Glover Austin.
