Funeral services for Raymond J. Atkins, 40-year-old lead and zinc miner will be conducted at the Bethel tabernacle in Picher at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Henry Ford will officiate. Burial will be in the Baxter Springs Kansas cemetery under direction of the Mitchelson funeral home of Commerce Oklahoma. A longtime resident of Picher Oklahoma, Atkins died in his home on East A Street at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, following a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pansy Atkins of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Raedean Bogard and Miss Mary Jane Atkins, both of the home, and Mrs. Estell Hodge of Baxter Springs; a son Hugh Edward Atkins of the home and his mother Mrs. Maude Smith of Commerce.
