of Rt 1, Joplin Missouri, passed away Sunday, Nov 5, at the home of a friend, Claud Smith, 420 South Connell avenue, Picher Oklahoma. His death was caused by a heart attack suffered between the hours of six and ten o'clock Sunday morning. The 53-year old miner was born Sep 2, 1897, at Webb City Missouri, and had lived in Picher several years until moving to Joplin in 1935. He was a World War I veteran. He leaves his mother, Fannie Atkerson of Rt 1, Joplin; one step-daughter, Maxine Irwin of St. Louis Missouri; and two brothers, John Scott of Texas and Ray Scott of Rt 1, Joplin. His body was taken to the Parker-Hunsaker funeral home in a Thomas ambulance. Services were held there in the chapel and burial was in the Mt. Hope cemetery Joplin.
