Abstract Data

Albert Arnold was found dead in his home at Cardin Oklahoma, last night about 11:00 pm by his father and brother who were sent to the home by a neighbor who heard the shots. He was lying across a pallet on the floor when the father and brother entered the house and had evidently been dead since 1 o'clock according to the physician called. A .32 caliber revolver was lying by his side on the floor and it is probable that it fell from his hand after shooting himself in the right temple. Mr. Arnold was 32 years old and unmarried. He worked in one of the mines near Cardin and was keeping bachelor quarters in a small house close to his father's home. Funeral services will be held tomorrow, and burial will take place at Cardin Oklahoma.

Albert Arnold, aged 32, shot and killed himself at Tar River Oklahoma last Thursday night. He was a son of Sam Arnold of Gravette. The elder Arnold and a younger son were at Tar River and left Albert alone while they went to town; upon their return they found him dead on the floor with a bullet hole in his head. Albert had been in poor health for some time and this probably accounts for his death. He had over $150 on his person previous to the shooting which could not be found afterwards. This caused some suspicion of foul play, however the father is not inclined to so believe. The body was brought to Gravette Saturday and interred Sunday in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Sympathy is extended the family.
