A second preliminary hearing was scheduled today for jobless hard rock lead and zinc miner, Luther Lee Armstrong, 37, charged with killing his wife's grandmother and critically injuring his wife. Armstrong was bound over Thursday for a jury trial in the Oct 26, 1960, slaying of Mrs. Ida Frances Gary, 80. A preliminary hearing was scheduled today for assault with intent to kill Mrs. Frances Parker, 32. Mrs. Parker, Armstrong's former wife, testified Armstrong killed her grandmother at Picher and then shot her. He was ordered held in county jail without bond until the next term of district court. Armstrong recently was ruled accountable for his actions after observation at Easter State Hospital at Vinita.
