William Earl Anderson, of Picher, a hard rock lead and zinc miner in the district and a resident of the Joplin Missouri district prior to that, died May 8, 1932, age 45, at his home at Picher at 6:30 o'clock Sunday night. He had been ill two years and lived in the West for his health part of that time. Ground boss for three mines during his career, Anderson was last employed at the Hartley Mine. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Anderson; one daughter, Maxine Anderson, 6 years old; one half-brother, Thomas Marshall and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Shelton of Picher, Robert Marshall, another half-brother, died at Los Angeles two months ago. Funeral services will be conducted at the Twelfth Street mission in Baxter Springs at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Harry Moore. Burial May 10, 1932, will be in Hillcrest cemetery at Galena Kansas, under the direction of the Todd undertaking company. Note: Ruth Shelton, in memory of her brother, provided free dinners from her caf? for many destitute miners who were ill with tuberculosis and had few, or no, persons to care for them.

Funeral services for William Earl Anderson, a well known ground foreman in mines, in the Picher Oklahoma field, who died May 8, 1932, age 45, at 6:00 Sunday night at his home, will be conducted at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Twelfth Street mission in Baxter Springs. The Rev. Harry Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest cemetery at Galena Kansas. Anderson died of complication following an illness of two years. He had returned to his home about three months ago from Arizona where he had been for his health a greater part of the time since his health failed. For more than fifteen years, Anderson resided in Picher, where for six years he was ground foreman at the Vantage Mine later working for the Kansas Exploration Mining Company and the Hartley Mine.
