Anderson, William "Bill"

Abstract Data

A photo of Safety Shot tube inventors - this photo shows P. T. "Pat" McLaughlin and William "Bill" Anderson, making dynamite shots shortly after their invention of the well-known safety shot tub. Through this process of making shots the accidents which frequently occurred while loading holes underground, have been practically eliminated. This method makes it possible for a hard rock lead and zinc miner, who has not had a broad experience in loading holes, to do so with a minimum of liability. Premature explosions are almost unheard of in the Tri-State district today.
