Afton Oklahoma, died at 2:25 am Sunday. He was 80. He was born Apr 30, 1919, in Hutchinson Kansas, to Noble Keith Anderson and Viola Emery Anderson. He married Betty Hunter, March 13, 1964, in Jay Oklahoma. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the army. He lived in Miami, but had moved to Afton Oklahoma, 35 years ago. He worked as a heavy diesel mechanic for Roadway and Eagle-Picher Company. For 22 years he was on the Afton City Council and was Afton Street commissioner. He was a member of the Afton American Legion, a lifetime member of the Miami VFW and a Free Mason. Survivors include his wife of the home; five sons, Raymond G. Anderson, Grove Oklahoma, Ronnie Joe Anderson, Tulsa Oklahoma, Michael L. Anderson, Miami, Leonard Stotts, Owasso Oklahoma, and Pete Rozelle, Afton; two daughters, Rema June Hopper, Afton, and Janatha Anderson, of the home; one brother, Jack Anderson, Miami; and 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Two sisters preceded him in death. A graveside funeral service is at 10 am Aug 18, in the Hickory Grove cemetery, northeast of Grove, under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas funeral Home with Dough Hanson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by members of the Grove Funeral Detail. The family will receive friends at 301 N. Ross, Afton.
