Anderson, Peter

Abstract Data

30 years old, a hard rock lead and zinc miner, was beaten over the head with a revolver and robbed of about $3 by two unknown robbers about 7:30 o'clock tonight. Anderson had left his home at 914 North Main Street, Picher Oklahoma, and was nearly half-way to the center of the city when he was held up. The victim told Mayor Harley Jennings that one of the men hit him across the side of the head with the butt of a revolver, while the other searched his pockets for the money. He said this happened before he could raise his hands. Darkness prohibited any identification of the pair, Anderson said. He later went to Picher hospital to have the head laceration treated. Mayor Jennings and Patrolman H. E. Brewer investigated.
