age 45, died. Mr. Ward, a Picher Oklahoma grocer, died unexpectedly at 6:30 am yesterday morning, Nov 27, 1927, at his home, 423 North Netta St., Picher. Death was due to appoplexy. He had been in apparent good health, having worked at his grocery store until closing time at 11 pm Saturday night. Shortley after 5 yesterday morning he aroused his son, James P. Ward, with whom he was sleeping, complaining of being cold and requested the son to light a fire. In about an hour Mr. Ward fell asleep and within a few minutes after awakening again he died. Mr. Ward's wife died two months ago. He had been engaged in the grocery business in Picher the last four years, coming from Birch Tree Missouri, where the body was sent for burial. The funeral will be held at Birch Tree tomorrow, Nov 29, 2927. The services to be in charge of the Masonic Order of which Mr. Ward had been a member for many years. The Todd Undertaking company was in charge at Picher. Researcher's note: I did not find his burial place.
