Beaver Mine
One man was killed and three injured, two seriously, in a premature blast explosion which occurred late Thursday afternoon at one of the mines of the Beaver Mining Company at Tar River Oklahoma. The accident occurred shortly after 3 o'clock and on account of the excitement which prevailed it was impossible at the time to learn the name of the dead man or any of the others who were injured. Two of the injured men were placed in an ambulance and rushed to the Miami Baptist hospital. One was believed to be fatally injured. The miners who accompanied the injured to the hospital said one of the men was known as "Barney." Surgeons were working over the men and it was impossible to learn their names. The ambulance left immediately for Tar River to bring the third man to the Miami hospital. But few details of the accident were learned. The men, it was understood, were preparing a blast when a premature explosion occurred and caught them unawares. One man was killed outright and the others injured.
