White, D.
Age 14
mine near Cardin Oklahoma
David White, aged about fourteen years, was instantly killed Wednesday afternoon about four o'clock by falling 80 feet into a hard rock lead and zinc mine shaft near Cardin Oklahoma. His neck, left leg, and several ribs were broken and his body otherwise horribly mangled. Young White in company with several other boys, were visiting some friends who work in the mines and the boy was riding one of the cars up to the shaft and lost his footing as he alighted from the car and plunged to the bottom of the shaft. The young fellow had been employed for some time after school hours by the Hadley Drug Company, at Cardin Oklahoma and was above the average boy, both morally and intelligently. The boy lived with his parents, Edward E. And Maude May White. His father is foreman of the Cornfield Mine.
