Picher Oklahoma, Nov 6 Joseph T. Waldon, 41, died at the Picher Oklahoma hospital at noon today as the result of injuries received at 9:40 this morning when he fell down a shaft at Picher Mine No. 7, hard rock lead and zinc mine. Waldon was a screen man in the ground, but was doing special work near the shaft when the accident occurred. He fell 70 feet, fracturing his skull and breaking several bones. The injured man was taken to the hospital in the ambulance of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. The body later was taken to the parlors of the same establishment. Nothing has been learned regarding the dead man's family except that he has a mother in Kansas. Note: Burial in the Rowley Cemetery, Barry County Missouri.
