Picher Oklahoma, May 29. Robert Swanwick, 38 years old, of near Melrose Kansas, a machine man was fatally injured by a premature shot at 3:30 yesterday afternoon while working in a drift in the ground of the Lucky Extension Mine in the northwest part of Picher. He was taken in a Durnil ambulance to the American hospital at Picher, where death occurred at 9:45 last night. Particulars of the accident could not be learned. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mae Swanwick; son, Bobby Swanwick, and daughter, Mary Lou Swanwick, all at home; a brother, Frank Swanwick of Oswego Kansas, and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Schmidt, Marshville Missouri, and Mrs. Hanna Maylen, Parsons Kansas. The body was taken to the Durnil funeral home at Picher and later to the Dale funeral home at Oswego.
