Crushed against the side of a shaft at the Vantage Mine in Picher Oklahoma, Ed Sullivan this morning received injuries which resulted in his death a few hours later. Sullivan was being raised from the bottom of the mine when the accident occurred. A can in which he was riding was smashed against the side of the shaft. He was employed by the mining company as a hard rock lead and zinc miner.
