Charles Sullivan, who lives in the east part of town, was injured last night about 10 by a cave-in at the Turkey Fat Mine at Hattenville Oklahoma [now Commerce]. The ground had been giving way all day yesterday and he had gone in the shaft to put in the cribbing last night and while working the ground gave way and covered him up. He was dug out in about three hours afterward. When examined by the doctors he was found to have both legs broken and several minor injuries.

Charles Sullivan, the man who got his legs crushed last Tuesday night in a cave-in at the Turkey Fat Mine at Hattenville Oklahoma, is reported to have lock-jaw and is still unconscious.

Charles Sullivan who was injured at the Turkey Fat Mine last Tuesday night died in his home in Miami Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. After he was brought home Tuesday night he seemed to be doing nicely until sometime Wednesday when he relapsed into unconsciousness due, the doctors said, to the shock from which he never rallied. The body was shipped Monday morning on the 9:15 train to Joplin Missouri and will be taken to Carterville Missouri for burial. The deceased leaves a wife, who has the sympathy of the entire community.

Charles Sullivan died Sunday at 3:45 pm, age 32 years. He leaves a wife. The remains were shipped to Carterville Missouri this morning for burial, where he formerly lived. The Turkey Fat Mine was shut down on account of his death and burial.
