Injuries received several weeks ago in a mine accident proved fatal early today to James Harry Scamper, Butte Montana, a former resident of Baxter Springs Kansas. He died at 12:05 o'clock in a Butte hospital. Stamper, who moved from Baxter Springs Kansas to Butte 10 year ago, was 44. He was employed by the Anacoada Mining Company at Butte. He belonged to the Baptist church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Loretta M. Weaver, Baxter, Route 3, and Mrs. Dorothy Frieden, Vista California; a brother, Wally M. Stamper, Butte; a sister, Mrs. Merl Bartlett, Baxter; and three grandchildren. Arrangements for final rites will be announced by the Thomas funeral home of Picher Oklahoma.
