Picher Oklahoma, Dec 12 Niccola Spino, 34 years old, was instantly killed shortly before midnight Sunday by an avalanche of rock weighing many tons which entombed him while he was engaged at shoveling at the Oko Lead and Zinc Company's mine on South Main street, Picher. It was nearly 4 o'clock this morning before his body was recovered. The boulders were so large that it required work from the entire crew four hours to unearth the body. One other miner was slightly injured by the mass, which fell from the roof, but his injury did not merit medical attention and he did not report his name. Spino's body was taken to the morgue of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. He is survived by a wife, Mrs. Carrie Spino, 110 Emily street, Picher. A brother resides at Central City South Dakota, and a sister, Mrs. Tony Ross at Graybull Wyoming.

Picher Oklahoma, Dec 14 Funeral services for Nicola Spino, who was killed Sunday night at the Oko Mine, has been delayed pending the arrival of his brother, Charles Spino, from Leeds South Dakota, and a sister, Mrs. Tony Ross from Graybull Wyoming. The body is at the Todd undertaking company, of Picher parlors. Spino is survived by a wife, Mrs. Carrie Spino, 110 Emily street, Picher.

Gerald E. Madden received a back injury at the Oko Mine Sunday night in an accident that caused the death of Niccola Spino.

Picher Oklahoma, Dec. 16 funeral services for Niccola Spino, who was killed in an accident at the Oko Mine early Monday morning, will be held from the chapel of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher at 10 o'clock Saturday morning. The Rev. W. A. Dodson will make the funeral address. Burial will be in the Fasket cemetery near Carthage Missouri.

... Carrie Spino filed suit for $3,750 against the Oko Mining Company in Ottawa county Oklahoma district court at Miami Thursday. The petition states that, due to the carelessness and negligence of the defendant, on December 11, 1921, the husband of the plaintiff was killed when a boulder and earth caved in on him while he was at work.
