Picher Oklahoma, April 19. The funeral of William G. Smith, 30 years old, of Monarch Kansas, who died at a local hospital yesterday as the result of injuries received in an accident at the Gordon Mine, a hard rock lead and zinc mine, the previous day, was held from the chapel of the N. W. Green undertaking parlors this afternoon, Apr 20, 1924, at 1 o'clock. Burial was in the G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife. Smith was struck on the head by a boulder falling down the shaft and inflicting a skull fracture which caused his death about twelve hours later.
