The K. L. Mining Company was named defendant in a suit filed late Wednesday afternoon in the district court by Mrs. Maggie Shamblin, widow of I. B. Shamblin, for $25,000 damages. The petition alleges Shamblin, who was an employee of the mining Company, died from the effects of "foul and poisoned air" in the shafts and drifts of the mine. His death occurred Feb 16, 1926, after an illness of more than a year said to have resulted from working in the foul air.
