Skelton Mine

Porter M. Clark, administrator of the estate of Martin E. Ryan, deceased, has filed suit in district court against L. S. Skelton of the Skelton Lead and Zinc Company et al, for $1,500 damages for the death of Ryan. According to the petition, Ryan was a shoveler in the mine. On November 20, 1920, a large mass of loose rock and earth fell from the roof of the mine, striking Ryan on the head and injuring him. According to the petition, the injury led to his death. In the petition, $1,000 is asked to aid and support relatives who had been partly supported by him and $500 for the damage to the estate of Ryan in his death.
