Picher Oklahoma, Dec 30 M. R. Reyburn, 32 years old, of Zincville Oklahoma, died at a local hospital at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon of injuries received earlier in the day at the Federal Brewster Mine, where he was employed as a roof trimmer. Reyburn, at the time of the accident, was standing on a high ladder [this ladder could have been up to 90 feet tall]. A boulder falling from the roof knocked him from the ladder, and he fell upon a pile of rock and dirt. He suffered internal injuries, which caused his death. In addition, one leg was broken, his back badly sprained and bruises and cuts received about the body. He was taken to the American hospital at Picher in an ambulance of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher.

No funeral arrangements have been made pending the arrival of Reyburn's wife, who was recently called to Depew Oklahoma, by the critical illness of her father. Besides his wife, Mrs. Lucy Reyburn, and three small children, Reyburn is survived by his father, Frank Reyburn of Coalgate; his mother Mrs. Nettie Reyburn of Saltilo Texas, a brother, a sister and a half-brother. Note: There were two different spellings of the name Reyburn/Ryburn in the same article.

The paper changed names several times making it difficult to search by title. Most of the Hard Rock Lead and Zinc Fatalities newspaper clippings are from the personal files of I. D. Hulvey, former powderman in the Picher mine and then owner of the Hulvey Insurance Agency.
