Charles Pierson, who recently underwent an operation at the American hospital at Picher Oklahoma, for the amputation of an arm, left the hospital yesterday and returned to his home at Galena Kansas.

Picher Oklahoma, Jun 11 Charles L. Pierson, 53 yeas old, of Galena Kansas, died at a local hospital at 7 o'clock this morning after an illness of about five months. Pierson's death was due to infections resulting from injuries to his left hand, received in January while working as a groundman at the Black Cat Mine, near Waco Missouri. Pierson paid little attention to his injury until 10 days had elapsed, when he became a patient of the local hospital. The arm was amputated in the hope of preventing the infection spreading throughout his system, but without success. Mr. Pierson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lura Pierson, one daughter, Mrs. Faye Dutton of Galena and one son, Bill Pierson, at home. Funeral services will be held Monday at the family home in Galena under the direction of the Todd undertaking company of Picher.

Funeral services for Charles Pierson, 53 years old, of Galena Kansas, who died at a local hospital Saturday were held at the Assembly of God church in Galena at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The Reverend Singleton of Oswego Kansas, and the Rev. Mrs. Lou Love of Galena officiated. Burial was in the Hillcrest cemetery at Galena under the direction of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher Oklahoma.
