Picher Oklahoma, May 29.--Harrison Peace, machine man at the Howe Mining Company, West A street, Picher was slightly injured at 7:30 this morning when he fell from the "heading" where his machine was stationed, and landed on ragged boulders several feet below. He was taken to the Picher hospital at Picher in Green-Stephens ambulance. He resides at the St. Joe Rooms.
Picher Oklahoma, May 31.--Harrison Peace, one of the pioneer hard rock lead and zinc miners of this district, died at the Picher hospital, Picher, at 11 Tuesday from injuries received when he was caught by a soapstone slab which fell from the roof at the Howe Mining Company's Mine, West A street, Picher, while he was working as machine man at 7:30 Wednesday morning. He was 47 years old and had worked for over seven years in Picher. He is survived by his wife, five sons and two daughters as follows: William Harold Peace, 22 years old; Olen Leslie Peace, 20; John Winfield Peace, 18; Horace Elmer Peace, 14; Fannie Leona Peace, 12; Gilbert Franklin Peace, 10, and Jessie Bertha Peace, 8, all of 416 South Vantage street, Picher. The Green-Stephens undertaking company took charge. Funeral services were conducted from the family home at 3 Wednesday afternoon. Rev. James Posey officiated. Burial was in the Baxter Springs Kansas, cemetery. Note: One article said he fell and had slight injuries and another article said that a slab fell and he later died.
