Picher Oklahoma, Mar 8- The body of Roy Patton, 34 years old, of Carterville Missouri, who died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon following injuries received shortly before noon at the Velie Lion Mine, was taken to Sarcoxie Missouri, his former home today by the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. Funeral arrangements are incomplete awaiting arrival of relatives. Mr. Patton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Letta Marie Patton; two daughters, 4 and 5 years old, and two brothers Lloyd Patton of Idaho Falls Idaho, and Charles Patton of Carthage Missouri, He was employed as a shoveler and was caught beneath a falling mass of rock and dirt.

Judgment for $4,760 against the Velie Mines Corp, for the death of her husband, Roy Patton, fatally injured March 7th at the Velie Lion Mine was awarded Mrs. Leta Patton, of Picher Oklahoma, Tuesday afternoon in the district court. The judgement was by stipulation of both parties. Mrs. Patton had asked $15,000.00. Patton, employed in the hard rock lead and zinc mine as a "mucker" at the Lion Mine, died a few hours after being struck by a falling boulder. Besides his widow, he is survived by two children.
