Picher Oklahoma, March 7. Thomas Patten of Cartervillle Missouri, suffered injuries reported critical when struck in the back by a falling boulder shortly after 10 o'clock this morning at the Velie Lion Mine No. 7, where he was employed as a shoveler. The injured man was taken to the American hospital at Picher, in an ambulance called from the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. Attendants said Patten probably was injured internally and that his condition was critical.

Picher Oklahoma March 7 Thomas Patten, 33 years old, of Carterville Missouri, died at a local hospital this afternoon as the result of injuries received shortly before noon at the Velie Lion Mine 7. Patten was employed as a shoveler and was struck by a mass of falling rock and dirt. Mr. Patten is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Marie Patten; two small daughters, and two brothers, John Patten of Carthage Missouri and Lloyd Patten of Idaho Falls Idaho. No funeral arrangements have been made. The body is at the Todd funeral home at Picher. Note: See Roy Patton. Thomas Patten and Roy Patton are probably the same person
