Picher Oklahoma, July 14.--Charles Owens of Baxter Springs Kansas, a groundman at the Liza Jane Mine, sustained a fractured jaw and a badly sprained back shortly before noon today as the result of being struck by a falling slab. He was taken to the American hospital at Picher.

Picher Oklahoma, July 15---The condition of Charles Owens of Baxter Springs Kansas, who was injured at the Liza Jane Mine yesterday by a falling slab, is reported to be improved. His injuries consisted of a fractured jaw and a sprained back. He is at the American hospital at Picher.

Picher Oklahoma, July 22.---Charles Owens, 36 years old, of Baxter Springs Kansas, died at a local hospital about 9 the morning as a result of injuries received at the Liza Jane Mine about one week ago. He was employed as a groundman. The body is at an undertaking parlor at Baxter Springs.
