Picher Oklahoma, Nov 21 Claude F. Norvell, 25 years old, died at the Picher hospital at 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon from internal injuries received four hours before when a boulder fell on his back while working at the Admiralty Mine No. 2 at Douthat Oklahoma. At the time he was taken to the hospital in the ambulance of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher, his condition was not considered critical. His body will be taken today to his home in Carterville Missouri, where he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Norvell. He leaves two sisters and one brother; Mrs. Maude Longsworthy, of Joplin Missouri; Miss Dorothy Norvell and Clarence Norvell, of Carterville Missouri. Norvell was unmarried and had been employed in this field for about three months. Funeral arrangements are being delayed until his father can return from an eastern trip.
The Todd undertaking company, of Picher Oklahoma took the body of Claude Norvell, who was killed in a mine accident to Carterville Missouri, where the funeral was held Sunday afternoon.
Clyde Morsey, Miami attorney, as the next friend of Mrs. Viola Novelle, 17 year old widow of Claude Novelle, 25 years old, killed in an accident which occurred at one of the mines of the Admiralty Zinc company, Saturday filed a suit for $15,000 against the company for damages. The petition alleges the company was negligent and this caused the death of the young miner.
