Funeral services were incomplete today for Raymond Harold Mullen, 40 year old lead and zinc miner who was crushed to death by a falling rock at the Grey-Garfield Mine in Douthat Oklahoma Monday afternoon. Harold died in Picher hospital, Picher Oklahoma, at 5:30 pm, two hours after the rock caved in on him. Mullen had been a resident of Quapaw Oklahoma for the past 38 years. He had formerly preached at the Quapaw Assembly of God church and conducted a revival in Hockerville Oklahoma recently. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Banetia V. Mullen, and three daughters, Alice Mullen, Reva Mullen and Patsy Mullen, all of the home; his mother, Mrs. Ida Mullen of Quapaw; four brothers, Mike Mullen, Clifton Mullen, Clifford Mullen, and Leroy Mullen, all of Quapaw, and two sisters, Mrs. Flossie Hobson of Vinita Oklahoma and Mrs. Eula Jones of Mount Vernon Missouri.
Final rites for Raymond Harold Mullen, 40 year old lead and zinc miner who was crushed to death at the Grey- Garfield lease in Douthat Oklahoma Monday, will be conducted at the Assembly of God church in Quapaw Oklahoma at 2 pm Thursday. The Rev. Ray Ball will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ralph Goodwin, Aubrey Foote, Raymond Hansford, Oscar Potter, John Deatherage and Pete Thrasher. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami under direction of the Hunter funeral home of Picher Oklaoma. The body will lie in state at the family home in Quapaw from 6 pm Tuesday until the funeral hour. Mullen's survivors include his wife, Mrs. Velta Mullen of the home.
