Picher Oklahoma, Feb. 5. Clarence Melton, 22 years old, a helper in the mill at the Oko Mine, was killed early today when his clothing became entangled around a revolving line-shaft. Melton was beaten to death before fellow workmen could stop the machinery. Melton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dollie Melton, a 19 year old son, Floyd Melton, and his mother, who resides at Flippin Arkansas, The Melton family resides in the 600 block on South Main street, Picher. The body will be taken to Flippin Monday for burial by the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. The mother is expected to arrive from Flippin Sunday.
