His head was crushed off when struck by falling slab at a hard rock lead and zinc mine. He was born Nov 12, 1896 in Patch Grove Wisconsin. His father Benjamin McKinney was born in Platteville Wisconsin. And his mother Nellie Key was born in Missouri. Mrs. Nellie Pursons of Dodgeville Wisconsin gave the information on the death certificate. R. M. James, coroner, of Webb City Missouri, on Nov 12, 1917. Burial in Wisconsin on Nov 15, 1917. Place of death Jasper county, Joplin Missouri, village Porto Rico.
