Picher Oklahoma, Nov 20. Edward McGuffy, powder man, was instantly killed at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Blue Diamond Mine, a hard rock lead and zinc mine, one mile north of Picher. McGuffy was loading a hole with mine powder when in some unknown manner an explosion occurred, which tore the head from the body and otherwise mangled him, causing instant death. The body was taken to the morgue of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. McGuffy lived in Treece Kansas and is survived by a wife. Funeral arrangements are not complete.
