Picher Oklahoma, Nov 29 Injuries received at the Velie Lion Mine, west of Cardin Oklahoma, late last night, when he fell a distance of about 35 feet from a stope on which he was working as a machine man, resulted in the death less than an hour later of Clarence Raymond Mahanes, 38 years old, 508 Commerce street, Commerce Oklahoma. A skull fracture was attributed as the cause of death. Mahanes died at Picher hospital at Picher. No one witnessed the accident, and it was not definitely known by mine workers whether Mahanes was struck by a falling boulder and knocked from the stope, or if he accidentally fell from the incline on which he was working. He was taken to the hospital in a Todd ambulance.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ada Mahanes, and three children, ranging in age from five to eleven years. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at the parlors of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. Other surviving relatives are his mother, Mrs. Ella Mahanes of Jacksonville Illinois; one brother, W. C. Mahanes of Tulsa Oklahoma, and three sisters, Mrs. Harry Baker of Seminole, Mrs. Harry Sullivan and Mrs. J. W. Jones, both of Kansas City Kansas.

Mr. Mahanes was a member of the Masonic lodge at Picher. Members of that order will attend the funeral in a body. Last rites will be held at 9 am Sunday at Todd undertaking company, of Picher chapel. The Rev. C. E. Bergen pastor of the First Baptist church will officiate. The body will be sent to Kansas City Kansas, his former home, for burial in Highland Park cemetery.

Funeral services for Clarence Ray Mahanes, who was killed in a mine accident at the Velie Lion Mine Thursday evening will be conducted Sunday morning at 9:30 at the Todd chapel in Picher Oklahoma. The Rev. C. E. Bergen, pastor of the Baptist church will officiate and burial will be made in the Highland cemetery Kansas City, under direction of the Todd undertaking company of Picher. Mr. Mahanes lived at 503 Commerce street, Commerce Oklahoma with his family, where they operated a small restaurant. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Mahanes and three children, one boy, 1 year old, two girls, one 9 years old and one 5 years old. Also other relatives
