Miami Weekly Record Herald · Aug 24 1917 · Pg 1 · Col 2)

Willie Kimmerer, 10 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Kimmerer, was crushed to death at one of the Picher Oklahoma hard rock lead and zinc mines on Thursday morning, when a train load of boulders from the mine were dumped upon him through an accident of being under the tramway when a dump was made. The lad, with his father and Jack Crowley, was hauling boulders from beneath the tramway. They were busy at their work and the tramway man, evidently forgetting they were under the tram, sent a load of boulders down upon the lad, crushing him to death. The body was turned over to Worley Brothers undertakers at Commerce Oklahoma, to prepare for burial.

The child's parents reside in north Picher Oklahoma, and the funeral will be conducted from the residence Friday.
