Funeral services for Ernie J. Jockers, 39 year old miner who died unexpectedly of a heart attack Wednesday, Sep 6, 1950, at the Marlene Mine near Cardin Oklahoma, were held Monday afternoon at the Union church. Mr. Jockers was awaiting entrance to the mine when fellow workers discovered him.

Rev. Vernon Beggs and Lee Marsh, pastor officiated at the services. Burial was in the G.A.R. cemetery under the direction of the Thomas funeral home. The body lay in state at the family home at North Oneida street, Picher Oklahoma from Sunday until the funeral. Pallbearers were Ray Reynolds, A. D. Coffey, Dee Walker, Ben Shelton, Elvin Newcomb and C. E. Levell.

Survivors are his widow, Crystal Jockers, of the home, two daughters, Shirley Ann Jockers and Edna June Jockers of the home; a brother, Joy Jockers of Oakland California; his mother, Mrs. Nellie Romhilt and his step- father, Allie Romhilt of Joplin Missouri.

Services were held Monday afternoon in the Union church. Rev. Vernon Beggs of Cardin Oklahoma officiated with Rev. Lee Marsh assisting. Burial was in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami under the direction of the Thomas funeral home of Picher.
