William W. Gates, a hard rock lead and zinc miner, 54 years old, died Monday night as a result of injuries received while working at the Chicago-Miami Mine near Picher Oklahoma, when a slab of dirt and rock fell from the roof, covering him completely. The accident happened about 7 o'clock Monday night. Nearby workmen uncovered him and rushed him to a hospital where he died a short time afterward.
