Fry, John

John Fry a machinist and Arthur Lewis, a helper at the Lucky Junction Mine near Tar River Oklahoma were killed Sunday morning when a round of shots were set off prematurely in the west drift of the mine. The accident was due to a misunderstanding of orders. Fry had given Lewis orders concerning the firing of the shots but in some way the orders were confused with the result that the shots were fired while both men were in the drift. Both men lived at Tar River. Fry was 45 years old and was survived by two sisters. Funeral services were held at the home of the sister in Duenweg Missouri, Monday afternoon. Lewis lived in Washington and relatives from that state cared for his body.
