Picher Oklahoma, Sep 13.--Carroll Forest, 29 years old, of Cardin Oklahoma, was almost instantly killed at the Pioneer Mine early Saturday morning when he was struck on the head by a falling boulder. Death resulted while the injured man was being taken to a Picher hospital at Picher in an ambulance of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. The accident occurred when a large boulder fell from an ore can as it was being hoisted from the mine, striking Forest on the head, breaking his neck and crushing his skull. Forest was employed as a tub hooker and is the son of Charles Forest, a ground man at the mine, who was near his son at the time of the accident. The deceased was single, residing with his parents at Cardin Oklahoma. The body is at the Todd undertaking parlor at Picher. Funeral arrangements have been delayed pending the arrival of Forest's mother from Arkansas, where she has been spending the summer. The funeral will probably be held Monday.

Picher Oklahoma, Sept. 15.--The funeral of Carroll Forest, 20 years old, who was killed at the Pioneer Mine last Friday morning when struck on the head by a boulder, was held from the home of his grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. W. D. Dougan, of Columbus Kansas this afternoon at 2. Burial was in the Columbus cemetery under the direction of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. Forest was employed as a tub hooker and a boulder fell from a can as it was being hoisted from the mine. He was unmarried.
