Orville Farris, about 25 years old, sustained a serious injury at a field-shift of the Domado Mine about 1 this morning as the result of being struck on the head by a falling slab. He was rushed to the Picher hospital at Picher Oklahoma in the ambulance of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. His condition today is reported as showing favorable signs of improvement. Farris and several other workmen were employed in the sinking of a shaft. He resides with his parents at Quapaw Oklahoma.

Picher Oklahoma, Dec. 7.--Orville Farris, about 25 years old who sustained a serious injury at a field shaft of the Domado Mine Thursday, died today in the Picher hospital in Picher. Farris and several other workmen were employed in the sinking of a shaft. He resided with his parents at Quapaw Oklahoma.

Funeral services for Neil Farris/Ferris will be held Sunday afternoon at the new Christian church at 2 with Rev. James Miller of Pawhuska Oklahoma to speak the comforting words. The body will be taken to the family cemetery 1 mile north of the Baxter Springs Kansas cemetery for burial by the Todd undertaking company, of Picher Oklahoma. Mr. Ferris was born in Dexter Michigan, 25 years ago, coming to Quapaw Oklahoma at the age of 7 where he has resided since. He enlisted in the US Navy when war was declared and there he stuck faithfully until the war was over. He was across the water seven times, never having an accident, and to think his life to be taken in an instance."Tis sad for he leaves a dear old mother, and father, Mr. and Mrs. R. Ferris, four sisters, Aretha Ferris, Lucille Alice Ferris and Myrle Ferris, and four brothers Charlie Ferris, Earl Ferris, Ray Ferris and LeRoy Ferris who will miss the smiles of this one whom they so dearly loved in the home where they all survive in Quapaw. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the heart broken relatives.

Picher Oklahoma, Dec. 8.--The funeral of Neal Farris, 25 years old, of Quapaw Oklahoma, who died at a local hospital. Friday afternoon at 2 as the result of injuries sustained at the Domado Mine early Thursday morning, will be held from the Christian church at Quapaw Sunday afternoon at 2. Rev. Miller, of Quapaw, will conduct the services and the funeral will be under the direction of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. Burial will be made in a cemetery near Baxter Springs Kansas. The deceased resided with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rance Farris of Quapaw. Besides the parents, he is survived by four brothers and four sisters, who are: Earl Farris, Charles Farris, Ray Farris and Frank Farris, Retha Farris, Lucile Farris and Alice Farris and Mrs. Merl Fulcher. The young miner and several other workmen were engaged in sinking a field shaft at the Domado Mine, west of this city. He was struck on the head by a falling slab, rendering him unconscious and from which he never fully regained consciousness.
