A premature explosion Saturday at 1:30 pm in the Blue Bird Mine, between Commerce Oklahoma and Cardin Oklahoma, resulted in the death late yesterday of Floyd S. Brown, 42, Brown, who roomed at the Baker hotel, Commerce, had been a resident of Stillwell Oklahoma, where his mother, Della Brown, still lives.

Brown was taken to Picher hospital at Picher Oklahoma, with multiple severe burns, mutilated hands and shock. Death at 5 pm was attributed to shock.

Surviving besides his mother are a brother, Virgil Brown of the home, and three sisters.

Funeral arrangements await the arrival of the family. Durnil funeral home, Picher, is in charge.
