Edward Broadus of Webb City Missouri, a shoveler employed at the Good Shepherd Mine, near this city, was killed at 11:30 o'clock yesterday morning by a falling slab.

The slab is said to have rolled off the stope, striking Broadus in the back. Death was instantaneous.

The body was removed to the morgue of the Webb City undertaking company. A verdict of accidental death was given this afternoon by Coroner R. M. James of Joplin Missouri.

Broadus was 30 years old. He resided at Third and Walker streets, Webb City. He is survived by a wife, parents and several brothers and sisters. No funeral arrangements have been made.
