Miami News Record · Jul 17 1930

Suit for $50,000 damages was filed in Ottawa county district court today by counsel for Mrs. Christina Bierbrodt, widow of Hubert Bierbrodt, who was killed in a mine accident last Feb 27 when part of a drift roof fell. The L. & G. Mining Company, the Oko Mining Company and the Quapaw Mining Company were named defendants. The petition for damages, alleges negligence on the part of the mine operators and declares the wife and two minor children of the dead man were deprived of their sole means of support when Bierbrodt died.
