Cardin Oklahoma, June 9 A falling slab in the W. M. & W. Mine, west of Cardin, killed Everett Ray Beason, 44 years old, assistant ground boss, about 11 o'clock this morning. The falling slab, estimated to weigh about 15 tons, dropped almost 70 feet, men at the mine said. Miners were more than 30 minutes recovering the body. Mr. Beason, a resident of Quapaw Oklahoma 14 years, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Binie Fay Beason; two sons, Howard Beason and Donald Beason, of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Marie Wyrick and Mrs. Wanda Hildebrand of Quapaw, Barbara Jean Beason, Billie Jo Beason and Beatrice Beason, of the home; two brothers, Homer Rhodes of Zincville Oklahoma and Wilbur Rhodes of Miami; a sister, Mrs. Esther Spencer of Zincville, and two grandchildren. The body was received by the Goodson-Durnil funeral home.
