Picher Oklahoma, June 13.--Damages to the amount of $25,000 are asked for the death of Charles D. Barker, who was killed at the Admiralty Mine No. 2 near Douthat Oklahoma last Monday in a suit filed in Ottawa county Oklahoma district court at Miami today. The suit was filed by Mrs. Mary Bankson, as next friend of Inez Barker, 12 year old daughter of Charles Barker, and alleges that Mr. Barker was killed by a large slab of rock falling from the roof of the passageway while at work in the mine. While the suit is filed on behalf of another child as well as Inez Barker, the name is not given in the petition, since the child is with her mother who became separated from Mr. Barker some time ago. Mrs. Bankson is the Barker girls' grandmother and lives at Galena Kansas. Harper and Potter are the plaintiff's attorneys.
Douthat Oklahoma, June 16.--Mrs. Charles Barker and daughter, four years old, have arrived from Holyoke Colorado. Her husband was killed in an accident at the Admiralty Mine No. 2 about a week ago.
I wish to thank the friends of my husband who worked at the Admiralty Lead and Zinc Company, for what assistance they rendered when he was killed Monday, June 9, 1919. Mrs. Charles Barker and daughter, Marjorie Barker. A Card of Thanks.
